Facebook and Google truning on Persian (farsi) translation as a support reaction on Iranelection protestors

Last Updated on Sunday, 1 July 2012 07:17 Written by Metacowboy

The massive Iran Election protests and engagement of Social Networks like Twitter for supporting the Iran Election Protesters around the world bring surprising new features out
from the 2 big Internet giants googel and Facebook.
Facebook launch a Farsi Translation for there community this morning 7am

Today search engine giant Google announce on there Blog they launched Farsi (Persian)translation support for its Google Translate product. (Beta)

Google Anouncemnt
“Today, we added Persian (Farsi) to Google Translate. This means you can now translate any text from Persian into English and from English into Persian ? whether it?s a news story, a website, a blog, an email, a tweet or a Facebook message. The service is available free at http://translate.google.com.

We feel that launching Persian is particularly important now, given ongoing events in Iran. Like YouTube and other services, Google Translate is one more tool that Persian speakers can use to communicate directly to the world, and vice versa ? increasing everyone?s access to information.

As with all machine translation, it?s not perfect yet. And we?re launching this service quickly, so it may perform slowly at times. We?ll keep a close watch and if it breaks, we?ll restore service as quickly as we can.

We?ve optimized this service for translation between Persian and English. But we?re working hard to improve Persian translation for the additional 40 languages available via Google Translate. If you see something you think is incorrectly translated, we invite you to click on the ?contribute a better translation? link and we?ll learn from your correction.”

That the public turned so close and active to support Iranian Protesters was surprising me ,many Avatars turnd there Profile pix to green to show visually there support for the Iranian demonstrators.About 3000 tweets per hour on the Iran tehran topic.
Many twitter user changed there lokation to Iran Tehran and Timezone +3.30 to hide the orginal live bloger and twitter from tehran to get to easy discoverd by the goverment secret services. Some famous Twitter user like ashton kutscher leading with ther 1.8 mil follower Here the Top 100 tehran mover http://twittercounter.com/pages/country%26time_zone=Tehran

The dramatic rise in aktivity on platform like YouTube and Twitter on the Iran topic is going main theme over multi social platforms. At the moment Twitter is major information pool for live news about Iran. The TV Networks and there Journalist can not report anymore from Iran as there Journalist have to move out of the country or being forced to stay in there hotel room. Same happen to Austrian Reporter ….. from the Austria Brodcaster ORF
As more the Iranian government tray to filter block and prevent reports from Iran as more the public broadcast every new news from Tehran and other cities.

Some thing new is happening in the Field of Journalism ,everybody is going to be a Journalist Broadcaster or Cameraman.Iranian Citizen Journalism going to Expand in Iran’s Cyber Battle with multi tausend online supportes. Not only Bloggers Tech experts posting and instaling Proxys for the Iranian to overcome the blocked Internet ,medical information what to due when hit by a plasic shoot or tear gas geting twitterd.
armed only with a mobile Blog or Twitter account the resistance is aktive and online.

US goverment gave advice to Twitter to reschedule their maintenance time because twitter was the only application for iranian protestor to communication after mobile and most Internet connection get blocked. 360 Blog
